I was born and raised in a project neighborhood outside Toronto to Vietnamese immigrant parents. I have lived anything but the “American Dream” to say the least. From the separation of my parents to having trouble with the law or making ends meet, I can relate with your hardships. Thankfully, I have found tremendous favor through the trials that I can only attribute to God alone, and have turned each obstacle into opportunities, and each loss into a lesson.
I have always had a heart for people and a desire to help, I get that from my mom. The passion to develop, and invest in people, this was modelled to me by a handful of older men that saw something special in me when no one else did and did not walk away when they heard where I was from, nor about my marred past. On the contrary, they instead generously offered to me, their wisdom, knowledge, hope, and friendship. Furthermore, I learned the value of giving myself away for the sake of others hence my ongoing desire to invest all I have to offer to others.
In addition to being the Life & Skills Coach with Chick-Fil-a Toronto, I am working in mentorship, leadership development and care coaching with Athletes in Action resourcing Team Canada athletes, formerly NCAA athletes from the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific and currently working USport athletes from the University of Toronto, and Ryerson University respectively. I operate in the domain of helping students and athletes ultimately achieve “Victory Beyond Competition” through spiritual formations, and empowering them to be change makers in the world, starting with self.

Working with Victor over the last 6 years has been such a pleasure, and I have been able to glean so much wisdom from him through our time together. He's helped me navigate the trials of the world of sport not only as an athlete, but as a complete person. I'm so happy to have him on my team!
Victor has become one of my most trusted friends over the years. He has a deep heart for others, a very patient ear, and it’s something he constantly works hard on. He has gained a stake in my life through developing me and others to truly understand who I am as a human and individual. As a counsellor, we can talk about anything from sports to the deepest things surrounding my life and values. He's been an immense blessing to journey with, and I know our journey will continue on for a long time. After many years, I can define our relationship as 'iron sharpening iron'.
Victor has been a resource to me as a high level athlete, and has helped me to develop personally and professionally. He has been a model of inclusiveness and community building, and has helped me grow in my lenses spiritually and situationally. He will go the distance to help you solve a problem, and works hard to help no matter the circumstance. Simply put, he cares.
Victor has been a great help to me in my life. As a developer and coach, he has challenged me to great lengths. Specifically, my character, integrity, and helping me become the man I truly want to be. We have become friends and this has helped me trust him to challenge and call me to a higher standard of living.
Victor Dang generously devotes his time to investing in those around him. Throughout my time as a college athlete and student with Washington, he offered me guidance and provided constant encouragement and support as a leader, teammate, and athlete. Leading by example, he has counseled me on how to cultivate communities of trust by valuing people, relationships, and building meaningful relationships with those I competed with and led. All in all, I have truly appreciated Victor’s commitment to developing me as an athlete, human being, and leader in College and beyond.
Victor is someone whose presence enriches lives; always giving of himself and yet always full. He's a saint, and not in the silly, hallowed sense of the word. In the truest, simplest sense he's always been there for me, reminding me of the best of things at my worst of times. A wise counsel; a direct mentor; a loving friend.
Victor has been a mentor/coach and vital part of my development and growth towards being the man and athlete I am today. Victor has encouraged, inspired, and challenged me to be the best. I am extremely thankful for Victor’s mentorship and wisdom and continual investment. With his model, I feel equipped to mentor, model and invest in the lives of others with my platform.
